Wavy hair how do i do it?

okay i have bone straight hair and i like it for everyday but when i go out id like to fix it up a bit im not that great at the whole styling thing (was my daddys lil boy at one time lol) i would like to try and get my hair like the lil cartoon icon im using just wavy not curly i have no idea how to do it

is there any sites i can go to to get some ideas on how to fix my very long straight dark brown hair and does anyone know how to get the wavy look i was talking bout

If you don't wanna use a curling iron or don't have one,you can do bee butt buns and they will put waves in your hair and last all day.

You have to do it the night before for good results, but you take a shower, and when youre hair is wet, you braid it. The smaller the braids, the more wavy it is. You sleep in it and take it out the next mornning and its wavy! Seventeen.com is a good website to get hair ideas.

for some odd reason every time i try to do my hair cute and wavy and messy it just turns poofy and retarded looking.

but one thing that worked decent for me is the 3 barrel curling iron.

it makes cute waves...but i got the cheap one so it didnt work that great! so if your willing to pay alittle more it should work pretty good.it creates waves..my hair is just a ***** and didnt really wave so good.

also they say to braid your hair at night then let it out in the morning..my hair,again,doesn't cooperate with that and just looks stupid.lol.

so if you find a way that actually works let me know because im curious too!

here is a way to get wavy hair.

step 1) wash hair with curl activating shampoo and conditioner

step 2) towel dry your hair so it is damp and put anti frizz creme in

step 3) scrunch your hair with mousse

step 4) put your hair in eight braids. four on top, four on bottom

step 5- optional) Spray your hair with something like aussie hi hold hi shine spray

step 6) let your hair air dry, but if you are in a hurry, blow dry it

step 7) when your hair is completly dry, spray the braids with anti frizz SPRAY and take out the braids.

Optinal step) if you feel the waves will come out, spray with more hold spray

you could use straightners. put mousse for curly hair on dry hair and just wrap hair round the straightners. but this does take a little patience!!

theres a few things you can do

1 learn to braid your hair which you can do by going on youtube and typing "how to french braid hair" and leaving it on during the day and when you're ready to go out take of the braids and run your fingers through you hair to separate the hair (never use a brush/comb for this) then finish with a finishing spray. you can also do this at night after you take a shower and leave it all night...heres the link...

2. you can buy a tripple barrell curling iron which is pretty much two curling irons you use as a clamp. i have one and it works great except if you're hair is short like mine it wont work as well unless you know how to do it very well, which takes practice and finish with a finishing spray... heres the link...

3. you can learn to use a regula curling iron to creat wavers but they're going to be more natural looking waves such as this girls hair...

what you want to do in order not to get curls and end up with some nice waves like the girl in the picture is to NOT USE THE CURLING IRON LIKE INTENDED...forget the curling iron has the clamp and just wrap the hair around the barrel (kind of like if you were using a long hot tick, which is pretty much all a curling iron really is)...its best if you flip the curling iron upside down because you'll end up holding the ends of your hair at the edge of the curling iron so be careful not to get burned. it looks better if you dont add hair spray because it wont look as stiff so i would try using a curl boosting spray followed by a finishing spray when i finish.

4. you can buy a diffuser for your hair dryer and add some curling mouse to your hair then use the diffuser when you dry your hair...heres a link of what they look like...

ok....heres many suggestions...read all of them!!

buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.

then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......

and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.

and as for just regular hairstyles, i would try sidebangs or whispy bangs instead of thick ones......dont know about the cut i might have to see the shape of your face, sry....

you can also do buns, because they are pretty in, or low pigtails, but you might be a little old for them, but my sister in college looks cute in them so i dont know.....

as for hairbands, very cute and in!!! definitely!!!

u could wear your hair half-up, leaving your bangs down.....
