I was born with very curly hair when I was little. Growing up my mom had me get my haircut constantly and I remember I had very, very thick hair that I hated at the time because I couldn't do anything with it.
When I was 15 I had the barber use thinning shears to try and relieve some of the thickness, it worked wonders at the time, but I really hate my hair now at 20. I can't stand the wave in my hair and it has too much volume/bounce and it looks too european/girl-ish.
How can I get my hair to be and stay completely straight/achieve "dead hair"? I can't stand the waviness to my hair it's ugly on me (imo). Plus I prefer styles associated with straight/dead hair (spiky) rather than grow it out and making it look all feminine. I can spike my wavy hair but it still doesn't look right :-(
What can I do about my hair?
I imagine you have beautiful hair.
My mother had baby-soft silky straight hair and with me being mixed, I had a combination of both. (not exactly thick and not exactly straight) Got me?
Anywhoo, we both vied for each other's hair.
I couldn't stand to hear complain and she couldn't stand to hear me complain.
I am sure that there are other's who wished they had your hair, including me.lol
When you look,at yourself, in the morning tell yourself that you love your hair and be the most EXOTIC beautiful person God made you to be.
That's an order.lol

Most of the people in my family (including me) have naturally curly hair. Depending on your curl, sometimes the only way to really control it is to keep it really short (I know that's not what you want to do). You could always do it yourself tho - with clippers, to keep cost down. You might try products that have "wax" in the title - they're usually a little stronger. And definitely try to keep just enough length so you can make it spikey without giving way to the waviness (although then you're still going to get into a frequent cutting situation again). Not sure what stores you have at the mall but a place like Regis, Trade Secret, or maybe even mastercuts or supercuts should have some reasonable product options. Just tell the person working there what you're trying to do. Naturally curly hair is both a blessing and a curse I think :-)

Just let it grow out man and see how it looks on you? You might actually like it and keep it for a while. Having longer hair doesnt make you feminine if your sure about yourself and your masculinity.
