What is a good style for thick voluminous hair?

I have the worst hair ever! It is thick, voluminous, frizzy, and wavy. My hair is impossible because it refuses to be completely curly or completely straight. I need an easy style that does not involve straightening or thinning. I would prefer a style that accentuates my waves, but I would appreciate any styling suggestions. Can anyone help?

In my opinion getting it layered would help. And then going regularly to have the ends cut off to keep it looking neat.

I have similar hair. It's about shoulder length and has loads of layers in it. Depending on my mood, I either just blow dry it and leave it as is, or I straighten it. I find it to be a very versatile style.

Have it thinned at the hairdressers to reduce the volume. This will help you manage it. Have it medium length and use straightening serum to calm the frizz and enhance your waves.

take a clip and pin back the top of their hair on each side. then all your hair just hangs down but you can still see your face.

Perhaps try shoulder length hair cut with layers, having layers can help reduce the thickness and give your hair good shape, also use some serum to help with the frizzy. Good luck.

Same here!!!!

For about 6 months I straightened my hair and it was great but now my hair is so dry I just take a shower then style my hair when it's wet and drown it in gel, it looks fairly normal. =/

I also had my hair thinned but it mdoesn't really make that much of a difference. sure it makes the back thinner but thats about it. still its worth it because its not that expensive.

I would ask your hairdresser to put lots of layers through it that will take the bulk out of it and give it a sleeker appearance. Having a style that is layered softly around your face might be a good idea too. I have extremely thick hair that is straight but curls right at the bottom for some reason, it's not curly enough to just wear curly the wash and leave natural sort of look but if it's straightened even if it's done in the hairdressers and lots of products used it just ends up curling on the bottom anyhow. I've had it layered and it doesn't look so thick and I just dry the bottom into flicks rather than curls, it looks trendy and stays in the style too. Have a chat with your hairdresser and there are some great hair and beauty sites on the web that can give you ideas about hair styles to choose that will suit your hair type. Hope you find a style you're happy with there's nothing worse than having a bad hair day, if you feel happy with your hair you feel more confident and good about yourself!!
