My daughter just cut her own hair...help!?

my daughter just turned 5.

She is mixed racially and has curly frizzy hair if its dry but semi- tight soft curls if its wet and styled it will stay in the little pincurls look.

anyway her hair was about 6 inches and it has taken her 5 years to grow that!

She cut the front down to about an inch and its like that for about the first two inches above her forehead. the rest she kind of took off a little bit on the outside so the most drastic part is the front.

Any ideas on what i can do to even this out?

I'm hoping to avoid cutting the rest to an inch, i mean she JUST finally got a full head of good hair....

Oh man, i'm so disappointed.

Hi. My niece did that too, but to the right side. We just left her hair like that and continued to style her hair despite that. I also have a 2 year old girl who itches her head sometimes when I braid it and accidentially she pulls some hair out by the scratching. So, for that, I just continued to style her hair. I think that you should use a headband, clips, a headband wrap, flowers in her hair, anything to try to make it look less noticable, even though that will be very hard. But also if you have a good curly product that will curl her hair real nice, the curls will also hide her hair mishap somewhat too. I dont know if you have curly products that you use on her, but I will give you some just in case. Many mothers I see dont have anything for their kids' hair, especially mixed kids. So here you go.

www.curls.biz - they have a curly q line, my daughter uses it.

www.blendedbeauty.com - have a blended cutie line

www.longlovelylocks.com - have a lovely child kids line

www.curlykids.com - the kid website to naturallycurly.com

These are what I know. I dont know any more than that right now. But using the products for their hair has masked it since all the hair is nice and curly, to the point where no one will really notice. For my daughter, I only put shampoo on her scalp, not everyday, like 2x/week, a good conditioner, especially if she gets her hair dirty every day, a good leave-in moisturizer, a good curling custard cream when her hair is wet, and a grease when her hair's dry - not that pomade grease though, one that is light but gives shine and moisture when hair is dry. Hope this helps. God bless.

It will grow faster once she gets older. Get her to a kid's stylist...they can do wonders!

Consult an experienced stylist about making the short part into bangs %26amp; then gradually layering a bit to make them blend.

Here's a photo of what I have in mind: http://matrix.com/find_your_hair_style/m...

You can try just using a Barrett in the front of her hair to make it look like its pinned down.....Oh, jeezz that's tough...good luck...

Mine is 4...I hope she doesn't try that...

Hmm... the best thing to do would probably be to go to the best hairdresser you know and ask them what to do about it. They'd probably have a good answer.

For the front get her some material headbands in differnt colors. For the rest of the hair, like if she cut the side or sides, maybe you can have it rounded in to the back part. Don't worry it will grow. Take some pictures to show her when she gets older. The both of you will laugh about her hair cut some day, even though it doesn't seem to funny at the moment. Good luck.

Take her to a stylist. It'll only cost $10 dollars or so for a good stylist to correct her hair :-) It's so hard to imagine what she looks like without pictures, so just let her go to a salon and sit her in the chair.

Tell her now that she did that she has to gt it shaved to even out. let her sit with that a while and after she realizes how terrible being bald will be let her beg you not to. That should resolve having the same problem of her doing that again later.
