What are some gorgeous, EASY hairstyles for prom/banquet?

I have straight, dark (but not very dark) brown hair that's a little past my shoulders. It's not incredibly thick, either... I want to have it up, but I can't do my hair to save my life! And my mom won't take me to get it done... She has curly hair, so her styling ideas bother me because she's not used to straight hair... any ideas?

Put it in a very Audrey Hepburn french twist. It's very easy and very classic.

I fail at doing my own hair and I am capable of a french twist : )

Essentially, all you do is hold your hair in a low pony at the nape of your neck, twist it up towards the sky(holding it a couple inches from the ends), lay it on your head, and tuck the ends in. Easy. Beautiful. Done.

Wear it down and use a curling iron or even just wear it straight. When you have straight thick hair, you would be worrying about it coming loose all night, instead of concentrating on having fun. Do something simple so you don't have to worry about it. My daughter has very straight thin hair and had to curl her has all the time as a rodeo queen. Curling iron and hair spray and she was transformed!

well of course you want to do the opposite of what you have so that way you draw more attention to your self, so curls is probably the best for you. but i think it's prettier when its up for prom, because then you can wear pretty dangly earrings and if you have a strapless dress or a thin strap dress then you show ur shoulders, so you could like curl it at the bottom and then put it in a bun and the little curls would show.
