Too be honest i think you shouldn't ruin your hair. Sounds beautiful. And no offense, but scene hair is fully ming!

I have that problem. I usually just straighten it. It makes us feel like all those other little perfect hair girls running around.

p.s. be sure to use heat protecters if you begin to straighten often.

i don't know about the curly thick part but go 2 photobucket and type in scene hair and take it to a stylist and ask them and let them do it.

only if you invest in a really good straightener...

Try to find a stylist who know the carve and slice method for making curly hair thinner and lay neatly.

The method is described in this link:

I have other links for pics of curly hairstyles that might give you some starter ideas.

you can still have the "scenester" hair style without pin straight hair; it just take a bit more creativity. my best friend has awesome almost-afro hair, but still manages to pull off the scene look.

basically, don't straighten all or any of your hair. it is beautiful. leave it that way.

try straight across bangs as opposed to sideswept, but that really depends on your own personal choice.

you can still have layers, they're just more difficult to cut if you're going to do it yourself at home. i recommend going to a professional salon, and personally, i think the best line of salons that are still reasonably priced (as in over fifty, but usually under two hundred) is the paul mitchell line. the stylists are also super nice.

go for two or three toned hair. trust me, it'll look hella sick with curly hair.
